How to Use the Toolkit
The Toolkit's CD-ROM is designed to be intuitive and easy to use. It works like a Web site and can be viewed through a Web browser, but it doesn't require you to be connected to the Internet, except to access external web sites.
You can then navigate through the CD-ROM as you do Web pages.
The screen is divided in three columns, on your left the navigation with links to all main parts of the Toolkit, in the center the area where the selected content is displayed, on your right the additional components of the Toolkit.
LEFT, main navigation:
- The Home link takes you back to the beginning.
- How to Use the Toolkit takes you to this page.
- The seven Modules are the body of the Toolkit. Click on each header to open the list of contents in each module, then click on each subheading to go to its pages. To collapse the subheadings, go back to the Home page.
- Below the modules you find a Site map which gives a graphic overview of the whole Toolkit and how its elements relate to each other.
- At the bottom there is a Search option. Type a keyword relating to the subject for which you are looking in the search box and click on Go. The search will look at the content of the Toolkit and point you to the documents and pages that deal with that subject.
CENTER, display area:
The main screen area in the center displays the pages of the module or submodule you have selected from the left main navigation. Within the text you will find links to additional documents and tools as well as links to external Web sites. The latter will only work if you are connected to the Internet.
RIGHT, additional material:
- A link to a page where you can download each module of the toolkit as a PDF document (which can be printed).
