Average distance traveled per boarding
Where a graduated fare scale is used, with distance traveled directly related to the fare paid, average distance per boarding can be estimated from the average fare paid, provided that one ticket is issued per boarding. Where flat or zonal fares are used, or transfer or multiple-journey tickets are issued, this statistic must be obtained by means of surveys.
