Average daily trips by bus
The total number of trips made daily by bus is a measure of bus usage. It should be compared with total trips by public and private transport, and with trips by all forms of public transport.

The figure will be influenced by the city population, level of private transport ownership (which in turn is influenced by income levels) and the availability of other forms of public transport, such as metro, light rail, informal minibuses, taxis, and auto- and cycle-rickshaws.
