Meeting with PPIAF Donors

Francois Bergere, PPIAF program Manager, together with Laurence Carter, Senior Director for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) unit of World Bank Group traveled to Europe to meet with PPIAF Donors from France, Germany, United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Switzerland from March 23- 27, 2015. The purpose of the trip was to discuss the following issues and update the Donors on: Implementation of PPIAF’s strategy and corresponding reporting requirements Financial situation (available funding balances and prospects for contributions) Preparation of the next Program Council Meeting Governance

Francois Bergere, PPIAF program Manager, together with Laurence Carter, Senior Director for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) unit of World Bank Group traveled to Europe to meet with PPIAF Donors from France, Germany, United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Switzerland from March 23- 27, 2015. The purpose of the trip was to discuss the following issues and update the Donors on:

  • Implementation of PPIAF’s strategy and corresponding reporting requirements
  • Financial situation (available funding balances and prospects for contributions)
  • Preparation of the next Program Council Meeting
  • Governance reform

The Donors reemphasized their particular interest in having PPIAF continue its focus Africa; fragile states; climate change window; the sub-national technical assistance (viewed as very successful by the donors) and the strengthening of PPIAF’s water expertise through a new hire. All Donors confirmed their participation in the upcoming Program Council meeting which will take place in Dakar, Senegal on May 20-22, 2015.
