Vietnam: Support to Low Carbon City Program

The objective of this activity is to foster the Low Carbon City Program through support in Ho Chi Minh City’s decarbonization efforts by generating emission reduction credits through a supply of urban interventions such as (1) EE retrofits for public and private buildings; (2) installation of rooftop solar panels on public and private buildings; (3) upgrading to LED streetlights; and (4) upgrading to electric vehicles. Emission reduction credits are monetized via international voluntary carbon market transactions and proceeds are used to recover initial Investment costs and to fund further implementation of Low Carbon City projects.
