SUDAN: PPP Program support in Sudan Phase 2

PPIAF, in collaboration with IFC, played an important role in supporting the government of Sudan develop a robust PPP framework, prepare a PPP law, and build capacity. A follow-up activity aimed to enhance the regulatory and institutional environment for PPPs in the country. This included support in drafting PPP executive regulations, drafting a comprehensive PPP manual harmonized with PPP regulations, and preparing templates for PPP agreements. This was complemented by training sessions on topics including fiscal commitment and contingent liabilities, project screening, and transparency. Once the World Bank re-engages with Sudan, PPIAF will work with the government to finalize these tools and contibue training to further strengthen Sudan's PPP landscape. PPIAF is also considering expanding the scope of its work in the space to the regional level.
