SOUTH AFRICA: Developing Enabling Environment and Restructuring Renewable Energy IPP Program

Supporting the Department of Energy's Independent Power Producer (DoE IPP) Unit and the National Treasury (NT) to attract private sector investment through the implementation of project bond solutions for the primary and secondary markets. It seeks to address financing constraints that limit the amount of debt available for long-term infrastructure financing by increasing institutional investor participation in projects through the use of project bonds by helping develop a framework that is conducive to capital market solutions.
