PARAGUAY: PPP Support

In 2015 the government of Paraguay (GOP) has requested WBG support to strengthen the institutional capacity to implement the first generation of PPP projects (roads, airport, and waterways) under the new PPP legal framework (approved in 2013-2014) and international practices.
Enticing the private sector into infrastructure in Paraguay requires good policies, expertise in developing well-structured projects, and supportive institutions. With PPIAF support, the collaboration focused on developing of institutional capacity to bring bankable PPP projects to market, build credibility in the first transactions and knowledge around the first projects.
