MALI: Enhancing efficiency and private sector participation in Bamako bus services

This activity will explore ways to improve efficiency of the government-owned bus company and to seek  private participation in the management and operation of bus services including: (i)developing scope for the use of route franchising as an instrument for promoting the enhanced provision of bus services; and (ii) design of a contract system for specified routes and service types, with the objective of enhancing the participation of private sector in a regulated manner.
