LIBERIA: Support for the Restructuring, Management Transition, and Governance Reforms of the Liberia Electricity Corporation

This activity aims to enhance the governance and performance of the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) and articulate a vision of its future as the national power utility. The activity will complement ongoing efforts to achieve financial and operational sustainability through technical support to LEC management in its transition from the current Management Service Contract to an internal management team while promoting institutional development and governance reforms. Activities under this pillar will include support to government entities that are overseeing the management transition of LEC (Ministry of Mines of Energy and the Board of LEC), development of necessary governance institutional infrastructures for LEC, including a corporate governance code, and capacity building.
