LATIN AMERICA AND CARIBBEAN: Introduction of LNG in Central America and the Role of the Private Sector

Providing support to countries in Central America to determine if the benefits of developing LNG import infrastructure for electricity generation from natural gas outweigh the costs. If the study determines that LNG would produce positive benefits, then an additional objective of the study will be to assess the role of the private sector in developing the LNG sector value chain, to identify the constraints to private sector participation, and to build stakeholder consensus on what role public and private entities can play to maximize the benefits of LNG for electricity generation.
