KENYA: Kenya PPP Support Program – Phase 2

PPIAF support was delivered alongside a US$ 50 Million IDA credit to create a number of PPP entities within state and local authorities and for capacity-building at the PPP program level, principally through the PPP Unit in the National Treasury. The support also enabled the development of a diverse PPP pipeline by applying the PPP Screening Tool of the World Bank (Kenya PPP support phase 1), facilitated development of the Project Facilitation Fund, governance and operational aspects of the Fund. It also supported preparation of several projects, including the Nairobi-Nakuru toll road, which is the PPP unit's flagship project. The second phase of the PPIAF support was aimed at the development of frameworks and methodologies for management of fiscal commitments and contingent liabilities.
