INDONESIA: Assessing the feasibility of a Clean Green Fund

This activity examined the viability of a Clean Green Fund (CGF) within the Indonesian financial ecosystem. It provided recommendations on the optimal implementation structure to address supply and demand-side constraints to the expansion of renewable energy investments across Indonesia. The activity helped the government of Indonesia identify gaps and discuss the various initiatives existing, as well as where and how CGF could fit within the existing institutional structure of Indonesia. Thanks to this activity, the government is now better informed to ramp up renewable energy support, especially in the eastern islands of the country.
Dialogue has been established through bilateral discussions and workshops to socialize the results of the study and exchange ideas. The BPDLH has expressed interest in studying the fund further. The next steps will include socializing the concept with other stakeholders in Indonesia and finding funders to support the fund.
