GLOBAL: Solar energy, private sector and electricity for all: How the off-grid solar industry can close the universal electricity access gap

The objectives of the proposed PPIAF research activity is to (i) realistically assess the potential of off-grid sector industry to be the driving force in closing the electricity access gap by 2030; (ii) evaluate whether the current market-based approaches are conducive to achieving this goal or whether variations/alternative approaches should be considered, and (iii) identify the set of measures that the World Bank and other development partners, as well as client Governments should pursue to increase the pace and inclusivity of off-grid electrification.
