GLOBAL: Mobilizing Islamic Finance in Public-Private Partnerships

Islamic financing is not routinely used in PPPs. Very little is known to most governments on how to make these deals happen and an even lower level of knowledge exists on the legal and regulatory issues associated with these. There is a need for more knowledge about Islamic finance within countries looking for infrastructure finance and better facilitation of the use of Sharia compliant instruments for mobilizing private investment in infrastructure through PPP.
