GLOBAL: Mainstreaming Gender Considerations into Infrastructure Advisory

In recognition of the gap in existing approaches among MDBs in applying a robust and consistent gender lens to infrastructure advisory services, the GIF has identified an opportunity for the World Bank Group (WBG) to take a leadership role in addressing this gap to not only improve internal approaches vis-à-vis gender integration, but also to share key recommendations as a public good with other stakeholders, including MDBs. To those ends, the primary goal  of this collaborative initiative is to promote the wide-scale integration of gender inclusive approaches in infrastructure advisory. This goal will be supported by two main objectives: (1) increasing understanding of the financial rationale for gender integration in infrastructure advisory through the development of a knowledge product outlining the gender business case, and (2) improving the application of a gender lens in infrastructure advisory through the creation of standardized, uniform gender toolkits.
