GLOBAL: Innovation in Capacity Building: Global PPP Certification Training

The CP3P Certification Program was launched in June 2016, after intensive work carried out by the World Bank Group and other MDBs to develop the Body of Knowledge, and in partnership with APMG, the creation of certification exams. To achieve CP3P certification, individuals must successfully pass three examinations – Foundation Level, Preparation Level, and Execution Level. As of September 2021, 6,068 individuals from 158 countries have taken the Foundation Level exam, 1,076 from 97 countries have taken the Preparation Level exam, and 491 from 66 countries have taken the Execution Level exam. Since June 1, 2018, PPIAF has funded country-level in-person training for CP3P exams in 26 countries supported by a funding initiative set up through this activity. This has been to support continued PPIAF efforts of broadening PPP capacity building training in developing countries. PPIAF plans to continue to fund and support CP3P Certification efforts, including updating the Body of Knowledge, expanding translations of materials and exams, and facilitation of training programs, especially in PPIAF priority countries.
