GLOBAL: Global Benchmarking Study of Trucking Sector Productivity, PPP potential and Carbon Sector Emissions

The team created a globally replicable study that allows governments in middle income countries as well as low income countries and fragile states (and Bank TTLs involved in these countries) to (i) benchmark and assess the relative carbon intensity and efficiency of the logistics (particularly trucking) sector in the country; (ii) develop indicators to help assess key policy, market, regulatory and infrastructure barriers to higher capacity utilization and asset productivity (as part of the benchmarking process); and (iii) receive guidance on how these indicators affect the demand for and viability of toll-based road sector PPPs.
