GHANA: Design of an Effective Private Sector Participation Model for the Electricity Distribution Utility

In 2019, the government of Ghana launched the Energy Sector Recovery Program (ESRP) to serve as a roadmap to restore and sustain the energy sector's financial viability, improve governance, and attract competitive private sector investments. The World Bank Energy Sector Recovery Program for Results (PforR) under preparation will support the implementation of the ESRP to improve the financial viability of the Ghanaian power sector to facilitate private sector participation and investments in clean energy to accelerate Ghana's green transition.
This proposed PPIAF activity will support the preparation and supervision of the Ghana Energy Sector PforR in aspects of tariff reform and utility performance improvement.
