SENEGAL: PPP Capacity Building Seminars for Government Officials

Government of Senegal requested PPIAF support to strengthen the capacity of government officials across the board, in the management of PPP contracts with a special emphasis on BOT arrangements. The PPP training aimed to improve the awareness and capacity of senior government officials (an average of 87 participants with 105 the first day) to understand key aspects related to PPP arrangements including risk management, financing, procurement, and supervision of contracts. This event also provided an excellent platform to disseminate best practice in the field of PPPs, including the significant body of knowledge that PPIAF has developed. An action plan has been proposed by the participants at the end of the seminar including pipeline identification and reviewing the legal and institutional framework.
