In 2012 PPIAF partnered with MCC to assess options for private sector participation in Ghana’s energy sector, in support of MCC's upcoming compact investment in the country. The final report examined the structure of Ghana’s energy sector and identified several obstacles to increasing private investment in the sector. The report outlined the necessary steps to overcome these obstacles, which included streamlining the bidding process and strengthening the creditworthiness of off-takers.
