AFRICA: Lighting Africa - PAYGO Market Attractiveness Index

This activity will support the development of a Pay as you go (PAYGO) market attractiveness index for solar and energy products covering Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Zambia, Zimbabwe and possibly-Angola, Cameroon and Ghana. PAYGO has proved to be a critical bridge between rural households and ownership of solar lighting and energy products. However, affordability remains the single biggest challenge for rural consumers.
